Super Bowl XXVIII was a rematch of Super Bowl XXVII. The Dallas Cowboys were again ready to play against the Buffalo Bills who were making their record fourth Super Bowl appearance, this time inside the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. Much to the chagrin of the AFC, the Buffalo Bills had won their fourth straight AFC Championship. Marv Levy and his team were practically begging for a ring this time around. Unfortunetaly for the Bills in order to finally get it a Super Bowl ring, they would have to beat the defending Super Bowl Champions Dallas Cowboys, the team that had mauled them in Super Bowl XXVII. No one expected this game to be any different from last year’s game. It was….well sort of…

Buffalo’s defence stood tall in the first half and only allowed Dallas two field goals. Buffalo actually took a 13-6 lead into half-time. On top of all this The Buffalo Bills started the second half with the ball. When the second half began, Buffalo’s no huddle offense began a drive that could have ended the Cowboy’s hopes. Then as fate would have it, turnovers became Buffalo’s nemesis again.  Turnovers were what had killed the Bills in Super Bowl XXVII struck again. Leon Lett (remember him?) caused a fumble which was returned by James Washington for a touchdown. Dallas was now tied and had the momentum, something that the Bills wanted to avoid. Dallas never looked back as Buffalo never scored in the second half. Cheered on by the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, The Cowboys won 30-13 and successfully defended their Super Bowl Championship.  The great Emmitt Smith who had been named NFL Player of the year, finished his season by being crowned Super Bowl MVP and earning that Trip To “The Wonderful World of Disney”.
