Dallas Cowboys Schedule and Scores 2000 Season

Record: 5-11
Fourth Place in the NFC East

Dallas Cowboys Story:

The Dallas Cowboys opened their training camp at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas. What a difference a year makes — the 2000 season begins a new era in the Dallas Cowboys history.  Chan Gailey was replaced as head coach by former Defensive Coordinator Dave Campo.  Additionally, the retirement of Darryl “Moose” Johnston and Michael Irvin to injuries along with the departure of Starters Kavika Pittman, Kevin Smith, and Deion Sanders will make this Cowboy team very different from those in the recent past.

The Cowboys traded two draft picks for WR Joey Galloway — his injured his knee with 4 minutes left in the 41-14 debacle against Philadelphia in the season opener.  QB Troy Aikman suffered his ninth concussion early in the season opener.  The great Aikman to Galloway lasted only a few plays and no completions.  They will have to wait until the 2001 season.
