Dallas Cowboys Season Review:

Life begins for the Cowboys without NFL all-time leading rusher Emmitt Smith who was released in the off season.  Although fans are saddened by this they also see the light at the end of the tunnel as Legendary coach Bill Parcels joins the Cowboys amidst much hype.

This was really a season of beginnings as the future hall of fame career of tight end Jason Witten began as well as future franchise quarterback’s Tony Romo.  The cowboys would finish the season with 10 wins which was double the amount from the past three seasons under Dave Campo.

The Cowboys were amongst the best in the NFL on defense and were also one of the best scoring teams.  Although they lost in the wild card round to the Panthers, fans finally saw a good future for the team under Parcells.

Dallas Cowboys Highlights:

  • Release of the legendary Emmitt Smith
  • Start of future hall of fame career of Jason Witten
  • Start of future franchise quarterback Tony Romo’s career
  • Tex Schramm was posthumously inducted into the club’s Ring of Honor
  • Cowboys make playoffs for first time in a decade

Tony Romo and Jason Witten congratulate each other after a great play at Texas Stadium.
