Dallas Cowboys Season Review:

Life began without franchise quarterback Troy Aikman who was released by the team due to multiple concussions.  This left only Emmitt Smith as the remaining superstar triplet as Michael Irvin had also retired due to injury in 1999.

Even with the injection of new blood, the Cowboys suffered through another 5–11 campaign and a last place finish in the NFC East.  The Cowboys had brought in three different quarterbacks (Tony Banks, Quincy Carter and former #1 pick Ryan Leif).

Many poor coaching decision in crucial times in games cost the cowboys and better faith in the season.  Jerry Jones started to be public enemy #1 in Dallas for what many fans saw a lack of competency as General Manager of America’s Team.

Dallas Cowboys Highlights:

  • Bob Hayes is inducted into the Cowboys Ring of Honor at Texas Stadium
  • Emmitt Smith Pursues All Time NFL Rushing Record
